BULL RIDING AT THE FATHER'S FORGE
The Father's Forge on Lake Street has scheduled their first bull riding/ranch bronc riding event for Sunday, August 30, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. in the Forge's arena. The arena is located behind The Father's Forge on Lake Street. Contact Tammy Mardis @ 461-9642 for information about entry fees and deadlines. Admission to the public is free. FALL WHEAT PRODUCTION WORKSHOP
The Quay County Extension Office has scheduled a fall wheat production workshop for September 8, 2009, at 8:00 a.m. at the Forrest Fire Station.
Various topics will include seed quality treatments and planting; soil fertility and properties; variety trials; and grazing management and bindweed control.
NMDA CEU's will be offered.

QUAY COUNTY FAIR
The annual Quay County Fair is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. This is when the Home Arts exhibits will be accepted from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 12, 2009, entries in all departments will be accepted. The fair opens at 5:00 p.m. The Shepard's Lead contest will start at 6:00 p.m. The Catch-It-Heifer Scramble will start at 8:00 p.m.

NM State Agricultural Science Center at Tucumcari will host their annual Field Day on Thursday, August 6, 2009. Registration will start at 4:30 p.m. at the center with dinner to follow at 5:30 p.m.
The program will start at 6:00 p.m. and will feature Tim Farmer, District Supervisor of District VII New Mexico Office of the State Engineer. The topic will be "Water Rights 101".
The Hay Wagon Tour of the center will start at 6:45 p.m.
There are several topics which will be covered during the Hay Wagon Tour, all of which are of interest to local farmers and ranchers.
Make plans now to attend.
